Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is a non-governmental, voluntary organisation uniting Latvian companies of different sectors. The aim of the organisation is to create favourable business environment, represent economic interests of Latvia's enterprises and offer business promotion services. LCCI represents business interests through a dialogue with national and local governments and participates in the drafting of commercial legislation in Latvia.
Mediation is one of the most important priorities of the LCCI and it is making a lot of effort for its implementation and promotion in Latvia, as well as to facilitate the use of mediation in the resolution of commercial disputes.
The Latvian Mediation law is still in the stages of the legislative process.
On November 7, 2013 Latvian parliament – the Saeima adopted in the second reading (without a single vote "against") the draft law "Mediation Law".
At this stage, the draft law is being prepared for adoption in the third and final reading.
The costs are calculated in accordance with the total amount of the dispute. When it comes to non-monetary dispute, the value in dispute is set by the Council of the Arbitration Court.
Fees start from € 350 per case and go up to charge of € 6.000 per case plus 0.05% from the amount that exceeds the sum of € 3.550.000.
