For using the services offered by our partners and linked Mediation centres, you have to pay an administration fee, charged by our partners or Mediation centres, and the mediator’s fee.

Generally the parties share these costs equally, unless they work out a different arrangement. Typically the mediator’s fees are billed for Mediation session and preparation time (e.g. time for reviewing notes or preparation of the final Mediation agreement). Hourly fees for mediators depend on the mediator and sometimes on the amount in dispute (the monetary value that applies to the thing that is in dispute between the parties). Many mediators have set half and full-day rates. Please note that an extra fee may be charged for the mediator’s travel expenses or fees for hotel reservations. The VAT (Value added tax) varies from country to country and therefore depends on the Mediation centre / project partner involved.

The costs of legal representation during a Mediation session are not included in the fees.

Mediation is usually less expensive than litigation, therefore we recommend you to calculate your legal costs before going to court.

In order to find out about the administration fees and the fees of Mediators in your preferred Mediation centre, select a country.
